Job Summary:

Responsible for maintenance duties of processing plants including but not limited to routine and preventative maintenance of buildings, equipment and grounds.  The scope includes management of mechanical systems and equipment integration. s

·         Manage and order tools, parts and supply inventories

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Directs and coordinates, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of mill, industrial plant, or other establishment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.


Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.



Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.


Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.



Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.


Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.



Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.


Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

 

Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.


 

Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.

 

Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.

 

May perform supervisory functions in establishments when subordinate supervisory personnel are not present.

 

May prepare department budget and monitor expenditure of funds in budget.

 

Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.


 Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

   Required:

 

·         4 year degree in related field; experience in lieu of a degree will be considered

·         7 plus years of Supervisory experience

·         Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere and equipment

·         Experience working with fanuc, electrical, PLC and mechanical systems

·         Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely


·         Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so           others will understand

·         On call duties to include nights and weekends

·         Attention to detail

·         Independent  Self Starter/Team Player

·         Mathematical skills: General Arithmetic/Basic algebra/Percentages/Fractions

·         Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, Touch Screens. CMMS Systems

·         Advanced English: fluent: speaking, reading and writing
