Job Description

Job purpose: Supervise and direct mechanics and parts administration personnel in the repair and maintenance of equipment

Job requirements:

  • Provide leadership and daily supervision to direct reports
  • Must be hands-on because this job requires physical involvement in daily repair cycle activity
  • Must attend meetings and report weekly workflow
  • Observe job performance and make sure company policy is being followed
  • Assign responsible mechanic for site repairs and establish site repair schedules
  • Establish and maintain shop loading as well as updates on repairs for accurate labor quotations
  • Establish and coordinate external fabricated machine shop repairs
  • Maintain training in all computer programs needed for aftermarket business development
  • Shipment goal setting using annual sales forecast plan
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints and expediting corrective actions and completing all ISO forms
  • Ensure customer’s needs are met in regards to quality and timely service as well as ensure high level of customer satisfaction  
  • Review and approve all mechanic timesheets and expenses
  • Innovate and improve on existing processes
  • Contributes to the team effort and success
  • Enforce departmental policy and process compliance
  • Performs other related duties as assignment

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience in a customer service role in a manufacturing or repair environment
  • Must be meet requirements and be eligible for TWIC and pass background check
  • Must be capable of completing and receiving credentials  related to courses required to perform service on offshore vessels and customer locations

 

Demonstrated skills:

 

  • Management experience
  • Lead mechanical experience is a plus
  • Engineering and mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, make self-directed decisions and function effectively in a customer service environment
  • Must be effective at problem solving to ensure customer needs are met
  • Good personal and communication skills
  • Must be able to travel with limited notice.

  • Inventory Management
  • SAP
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
