Hobby Lobby began operation August 3, 1972, with 300 square feet of retail space, located in north Oklahoma City. In January 1973, the operation was moved to a house near N.W. 23rd and Western, and the amount of retail space was increased to approximately 1,000 square feet.
This modest beginning has grown into nearly 430 stores with sales in excess of 2 billion dollars. The firm employs nearly 16,000 employees company-wide and operates in a 33 state area, including: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Hobby Lobby headquarters are located in a 1.7 million square foot manufacturing, distribution and office complex in Oklahoma City. In addition to our corporate office, other solely owned sister companies of Hobby Lobby headquartered at this location include, Greco Frame & Supply, Crafts, Etc!, Mardel and HL Realty.
The manufacturing area of the complex is a 725,000 square foot building adjacent to the main warehouse. This new site houses Greco's frame manufacturing facility and Worldwood's barewood, fixtures, and candle and scented products manufacturing.
