Pima Medical Institute started changing lives in January 1972, when Richard Luebke, Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, realized their dream of offering quality medical career education in Tucson, Ariz., starting with a nursing assistant program. Just one year later, the program had become so popular, the Luebkes added classes for other medical professions to meet the growing demand.

And as the need for high-quality medical career training developed, so did the need for additional campus locations.

Pima Medical Institute is serious about finding jobs for our graduates. Our Career Services team, along with members of our staff and faculty, work to help students obtain positions in their chosen fields upon graduation. We offer lifetime job placement assistance to all our graduates, which means any time you need support with your job search – from updating your resume to interview tips and current job openings – we’re ready to assist. To help students transition from program to profession, they must successfully complete an externship under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner in their field at one of our partner medical facilities. These externships are important opportunities for students as they can turn into full-time employment once they graduate. Pima Medical Institute is here to help you navigate paying for your education. Once you’ve been accepted to Pima Medical Institute, you can meet with the Financial Aid staff to determine your eligibility for financial assistance programs.

Below is a list of some of the Federal programs available at Pima Medical Institute:

Federal Pell Grant
Provides grant aid to undergraduate students who have financial needs and meet other requirements for student financial aid. Maximum award for each academic year will depend on student and program of training eligibility in addition to the parameters set by the Department of Education.

Federal SEOG
(Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant)
Maximum award for each academic year will depend on program funding. This program is for undergraduates with exceptional financial need and does not require repayment.

Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan
A low interest loan for eligible students. Repayment begins six months after the last day of attendance. The government pays all interest while the student is in school and during the six month grace period.

Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
A low interest loan for independent students and dependent students. The government does not pay interest on this loan. Repayment begins six months after the last date of attendance.

Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
A low interest loan. Eligible parents may borrow for the benefit of their children.

Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership
Maximum award for each academic year will depend on the availability of funds. This is a grant and does not require repayment.

Campus Based Funding
How much aid you receive from campus-based programs depends on your financial need, the amount of other aid you'll receive, and the availability of funds at Pima Medical Institute. Unlike the Pell Grant Program, which provides funds to every eligible student, each school participating in any of the campus-based programs receives a certain amount of funds each year. When that money is disbursed, there are no additional awards for that year.
