In October 2002, the former NEC Solutions America Automotive Electronics Division was formed as Elesys North America Inc. with investment from and in partnership with HONDA-Japan. Combining the companies advanced technology and extensive automotive electronics experience laid the foundation for success and set the stage for future growth. The name ELESYS is derived from two words: electronic and systems. Its uniqueness represents the fusion of electronic and system technology nurtured by NEC and HONDA, respectively.
Leveraging the technical capabilities of its parent companies, ELESYS developed passive safety systems, including electronic-field-based occupant sensing systems and airbag control units, as well as active-safety systems that electronically control critical vehicle functions such as braking, steering and suspension.
ELESYS looks to the future with the goal of developing and expanding its technology to provide enhanced integrated safety and control systems for the automobile industry.
