At TAC, we recognize it is our people that make us a leader in the building automation and energy management industry. And while connecting building systems is our core competency, we believe we do much more than that! Our work centers on all aspects of building systems, including: HVAC, electrical, lighting, controls and the building envelope. From analyzing, evaluating and designing building systems to managing subcontractors during the installation phase of a project to ensure proper system implementation, validation and commissioning, we work to increase energy efficiency and achieve sustainability. Furthermore, no project is exactly like another as our clients include small school districts, large colleges and universities, governmental entities, as well as commercial facilities.
Working at TAC allows you to take charge of your career. We encourage the development of your skills by providing continuous training and educational opportunities, as well as the challenges necessary for long-term growth. Opportunities abound for job advancement and new assignments.
The structure of TAC comprises three divisions: Energy Solutions, Systems Integration and Partner Sales.
Energy Solutions specializes in performance contracting, which offers clients – including educational facilities, cities, counties and hospitals – an efficient and effective means of improving buildings. We accomplish this by upgrading aging equipment, reducing maintenance expenses, lowering utility bills and improving building comfort – all backed by a no-risk guarantee. If a customer experiences a shortfall in savings, TAC will write a check for the difference. Accountability and guaranteed savings fuel the success of this division. Within the Energy Solutions division also exists the Abacus Consulting Engineering group, which offers mechanical and electrical design concepts to customers involved in new construction or renovation projects.
Notable projects include the city of Dallas, which received a new energy management system covering six city facilities; Virginia Community College System, a project that included implementation of building improvements on several campuses statewide; and Texas Woman’s University’s $19.3 million project, the largest performance contract in Texas to date.
Systems Integration provides turnkey solutions for new construction and retrofit projects, working directly with end users, property owners, facility managers, contractors and engineers. This division delivers efficient building solutions for HVAC, lighting, precision environments, and security and access control.
Systems Integration operates within two geographical segments in the Americas region. Major clients include Rockefeller Center, a customer for more than 20 years; Methodist Hospital and other medical facilities in Houston; and Merck, a giant in the pharmaceutical industry.
Partner Sales markets our products through an independent distribution channel comprising systems integrators and control specialists who install our systems in end users’ buildings. To qualify as a Partner, candidates meet specific criteria, including completion of a comprehensive training program, to ensure familiarization with our products and solutions.
Our Partners deliver solutions to a wide variety of end user customers, such as the University of Miami; the Owen Roberts International Airport, which serves the Cayman Islands; Raytheon, a world-class defense and aerospace systems supplier; and the Denver Art Museum, to name just a few.
Employees receive competitive company benefits, including:
medical and dental insurance;
life insurance;
short-term and long-term disability;
dependent life insurance;
tuition reimbursement;
a flexible spending plan;
a wellness/fitness reimbursement program and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
Employees also receive paid holidays and an allotment of paid time off (includes vacation and sick days), based upon length of service. Less tangible, but just as important, the culture of TAC fosters both personal and professional development, effective teamwork, and recognized success.

Daylight-Saving Time Date Changes:
Updating Your TAC System
TAC customers in the United States and Canada need to be aware that the Energy Policy Act of 2005 mandates the extension of daylight-saving time by almost four weeks. Effective in 2007, daylight-saving time begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. This information applies only to regions that observe daylight-saving time.
These date changes will affect the operation of your building systems. Any system that uses time-based scheduling such as building management, security, access control and third-party systems will require an update to comply with the new dates for daylight-saving time.
