LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 30, 2005) — ArvinMeritor, Inc. (NYSE:ARM) Commercial Vehicle Systems business announced, here at the Mid-America Trucking Show, the first phases of its new DuraSlide™ trailer air suspension will be available beginning May 2005.
The new sliding tandem air suspension system is the evolution from the RideStar® RHP11 and includes engineering enhancements to several sub-components, which will be introduced in stages. Implementation will begin with the new upper control arms and Meritor® 5000 Series axle.
“With the significant amount of customer support the RHP Series has received since its introduction in 1997, we are pleased to begin the next step of the evolution to the DuraSlide system,” said Sergio Carvalho, vice president and general manager of North American Trailer Systems for ArvinMeritor. “The new suspension builds on the RHP’s proven performance by providing the benefits our customers have come to rely on, while offering extra durability and convenience in a weight-competitive package.”
