Promise Hospital of Louisiana, the largest freestanding Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Hospital in Northwest Louisiana, operates on two campuses: -
Shreveport Campus: Promise’s flagship facility features 96-beds with recently renovated 62 private rooms, 12 ICU beds and 22 psychiatric beds.
- Bossier City Campus: This newly completed $15 million, 40,635-square-foot, 50-bed freestanding LTAC hospital campus features 32 private beds, including six Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, eight direct observation beds, and four dialysis unit beds.
At both Promise Hospital campuses we use an interdisciplinary, team approach to treatment specifically designed for patients who need a longer acute care recovery period of 25 days or more. We specialize in the medical management of patients with complex, unresolved, acute, chronic, or catastrophic illnesses, as well as multi-system disease processes. Patients benefit from our unique LTAC hospital environment that delivers both acute medical care and a full range of comprehensive therapy services to achieve optimal patient recovery goals.
Promise Hospital’s interdisciplinary team approach to treatment is led by a select group of dedicated local physicians who are committed to providing quality patient care. Our nurses, therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists, and case managers work with our physicians to insure our patients get personalized, compassionate care in the most efficient and appropriate manner. Each patient's treatment plan is individually designed to meet their specific goals in order to reach their maximum quality of life.
At Promise Hospital our staff provides on-going communication and education to patients and their families throughout their stay. We understand that patients and their families are important members of the treatment team, and that building good relationships will enhance the healing process.
One of our goals is to make the referral process quick and easy. Our admissions department works closely with a patient's physician as well as the other healthcare providers within the continuum of care to make the patient’s transition to the LTAC hospital a smooth process. Promise Hospital’s team of area clinical liaisons will provide an on-site evaluation of the patient as quickly as possible to determine if they meet criteria for our unique level of care. We know that time is valuable and every minute counts when treatment is needed.
Promise Hospital of Louisiana is JCAHO accredited, Medicare certified in long-term acute care, Louisiana Medicaid certified, and licensed as an acute care hospital. We are also an approved provider for most health insurance plans.
The Shreveport campus was established in 1992 and was acquired by Promise Healthcare, Inc. in 2003 and named Promise Specialty Hospital. In May 2007, Promise Healthcare renamed the hospital as Promise Hospital of Louisiana, Shreveport Campus as the national hospital company expanded its growth in the area with the construction and opening of its Bossier City hospital campus on August 16, 2007.
The hospital is owned by Promise Healthcare, Inc., a Boca Raton-based corporation that owns and manages hospitals throughout the country. The Promise name reflects a commitment to patients, physicians, hospital staff, and the Baton Rouge area and surrounding counties.
