Our History

LogoNation was founded by Jennifer and Denny Watson in August 1998 and was incorporated in Hillsborough, NC on September 21, 1998. Jennifer and Denny started LogoNation with a manual table top pad printer that cost about $2000 and originally just sold and printed promotional products like pens, keychains, and coffee mugs. It was not until December 1998 that we considered offering screenprinted sportswear like T-shirts, sweatshirts, and caps. That same month we took a screen-printing class in Phoenix, AZ, and after one week's worth of screen printing experience we decided to seriously pursue creating one of the largest screen-printing companies in the country. To give us the best chance at succeeding and to reduce the frustrations of trial and error, we realized it was important for us to adopt systems and methods that have been used successfully by other companies. We knew that if we adopted the right systems and followed them we would be successful.

With knowledge of an excellent sales system, we took our first big step toward becoming one of the largest screen printers in the country. In February 1999 Jennifer and Denny ventured into Natchez, MS to sell the first CommuniTee. The response was so overwhelming that we sold over $1,000 the first day. We soon realized that our 1200 square feet of office space in Hillsborough would not be big enough for the people and equipment we needed to produce CommuniTees.

In July 1999 we moved to Mooresville, NC into a much larger building in a new business park. In the short time since our move we have already added an additional 5000 square feet for training and development, customer service, and graphic design. This year we will create a CommuniTee for over 1000 towns and print around half a million shirts, making LogoNation one of the largest screen-printers in the country.

• June 1998 - Bought table-top printer at a Trade Show in Columbus, OH to start business with
• August 1998 - Leased space in Hillsborough, NC
• September 21, 1998 - Incorporated
• December 1998 - Denny & Jennifer took screen printing classes in Phoenix, AZ to learn the screen printing process
• Produced over $85,000 in sales in the first year
• January 1999 - Developed the concept for the CommuniTee
• February 1999 - Sold our first CommuniTee in Natchez, MS
• July 1999 - Moved to Mooresville, NC and purchased our first garment printing press
• July 1999 - Hired our first full-time sales person for CommuniTees
• Purchased an automatic screen printing press and printed the Ahoskie, NC Communitee on it
• Over $600,000 in sales for 1999
• Our 100,000th shirt was produced in May 1999
