Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores, Inc. began in 1964 with the first filling station located in Western Oklahoma. Tom Love's goal was to provide clean places operated by friendly faces, and the goal remains the same today. The strategy was successful. 1964
Love's first filling station opened in Watonga, Oklahoma.
1972
Love's first Country Store opened in Guymon, Oklahoma. Convenience foods were added inside the traditional filling station. This concept marked a new direction for Love's.
1979
Competition grew fierce as others in the market began to duplicate the convenience store/filling station combination. Love's began to look to the Highway system as its new vehicle for growth.
1981
The first Travel Stop was opened in Amarillo, Texas. Its popularity among travelers marked Love's new niche in the marketplace.
1984
Love's expands into a five-state area and plans to triple in size over the next 10 years.
1991
Love's is named "Corporation of the Year" by the Sales and Marketing Executives International.
1993
Taco Bell Express was built in one of Love's Travel Stop locations. Due to customer demand, one or more quick-serve restaurants would soon be available in every Love's Travel Stop location.
1996
Love's announces the beginning of a 50-store expansion program to include new stops in Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas an Tennessee.
1999
Love's celebrates its 35th anniversary and opens its 50th Travel Stop.
2000
Love's wins the 2000 Outlook Award for its innovative and outstanding contribution to the future of the convenience store industry. The Outlook Award is chosen by companies within the industry.
2003
Love's appears for the third consecutive year in Forbes Magazine's annual list of the 500 Largest Private Companies moving to position 188. In 2001, Love's debuted on the list at 446.

Love's RV Discount Program is exclusive - only Good Sam members can utilize the RV discount on gas, diesel and food purchases.
Good Sam members receive a discount of .02 per gallon on gas, .01 per gallon on diesel and a 10% discount on all food purchases made at participating restaurants located inside Love's Travel Stops.
It's EASY to take advantage of Love's Good Sam discounts.
Fuel up.
Go inside the Travel Stop to the fuel desk and present your new mag-striped Good Sam RV Owners Club Card to the cashier. The cashier will then swipe your card and the discount will automatically be deducted from the total of your fuel purchase.
Pay for your purchase.
Love’s Good Sam Discount program is available at all Travel Stop and Country Store locations. To obtain a listing of participating Travel Stops please visit our Travel Stop Location List and to view Country Store locations please visit our Country Store Location List.
*Please note, in order to obtain a discount on fuel or food you must present your Good Sam Club card to the cashier before you pay for your purchase. Members will not be able to pay at the pump or pre-pay inside and receive their discount.
Love’s RV Discount is available on the gas and diesel pumps on the car side of Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores. Please note, the Good Sam RV discount can not be honored from the truck fueling bays.
