About Us
Nathan Adelson Hospice was formed as a non-profit program to provide quality care and compassionate support for patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and a life expectancy that can be measured in weeks or months, rather than years. For the past three decades, Nathan Adelson Hospice has provided terminally ill patients and their families with medical, emotional and spiritual support at life's final stages, regardless of their ability to pay. Nathan Adelson Hospice is the largest non-profit hospice in Southern Nevada, caring for over 300 patients each day. While some patients are admitted into our inpatient unit, hospice care is a philosophy rather than a place and most patients are taken care of in their homes. In 1978, Nathan Adelson Hospice opened Nevada’s first in-patient hospice and the nation’s third. In 2000, a second in-patient hospice 14 bed facility was opened in the Northwest, In 2012 the second unit was moved and the bed capacity increased to 18, bringing the number of Nathan Adelson Hospice in-patient beds to thirty-eight. In addition to having two in-patient units and a home care program, Nathan Adelson Hospice also provides care to residents of rural Pahrump and frontier communities Amargosa and Crystal. Since inception, services have been provided to more than 44,000 patients and families at the most critical time in their lives regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disease, insurance status, or ability to pay.
Services
Nathan Adelson Hospice provides patients and their loved ones with comprehensive end-of-life care, and influences better care for all in our community. We honor the importance of choice and control for those who are ill, so they may define for themselves the most comfortable and dignified manner in which to live.

Each patient has an interdisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains and spiritual care support and pharmacists that develop a patient care plan based on the individual patients’ needs and wishes. But we don’t just focus on the patient – we’re every involved with the whole family and what their needs are. Attention is paid to all the various disciplines of life for each patient and their family.
We provide care to patients with life-limiting illness and their families including the uninsured, underinsured and the indigent helping them live with dignity and comfort. Nathan Adelson Hospice is the only organization in the area providing comprehensive pediatric hospice care to children 0-18 years of age.
