NiSource’s balanced portfolio regulated energy businesses provides natural gas transmission, storage and distribution, as well as electric generation, transmission and distribution to a total of nearly 4 million customers located throughout a high-demand energy corridor stretching from the U.S. Gulf Coast through the Midwest to New England

With this obligation in mind, NiSource teams are focused on serving customers in three critical aspects of the energy business:

NiSource Gas Distribution

Our NiSource Gas Distribution operations provide reliable, domestically produced supplies of natural gas to more than 3.3 million residential, commercial and industrial customers via nearly 60,000 miles of pipeline and related facilities in seven states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Indiana and Massachusetts.

Columbia Pipeline Group

Our Columbia Pipeline Group companies deliver large volumes of natural gas to local utilities, industries and other customers across 16 states and the District of Columbia. Leveraging our strategically located network of about 15,000 miles of interstate natural gas pipelines, we transport natural gas supplies from a wide range of U.S. production basins to some of the nation’s highest value energy markets. We also operate one of the nation’s largest underground natural gas storage systems, capable of storing more than 600 billion cubic feet of natural gas for our customers.

NiSource Electric Operations

Our electric business provides reliable and affordable supplies of energy to more than 455,000 customers in 20 counties in northern Indiana. Our electric operations include power generation, transmission and local distribution, as well as wholesale and electric transmission transactions. Our electric supply portfolio includes both traditional and renewable generation sources, including natural gas, hydroelectric, wind, and coal generated supplies, providing a total system operating net capability of more than 3,000 megawatts
