Founded in 1944, Mesaba Airlines is the longest-flying regional airline in the United States. Known throughout the industry for its commitment to the safety of both passengers and employees, the airline has successfully navigated through evolving times in an exciting industry.
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, Mesaba operates as a Delta Connection carrier under service agreements with both Delta and Northwest Airlines.
The rapidly-expanding airline serves more than 75 cities in the United States and Canada from Northwest’s three major hubs: Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Memphis as well as Delta’s hubs in Atlanta and Salt Lake City.
Mesaba operates an advanced fleet of regional jet and jet-prop aircraft, consisting of the 34-passenger Saab SF340, the 50-passenger Bombardier CRJ200 and the 76-passenger Bombardier CRJ900 regional jet aircraft.
Mesaba Airlines is headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota, approximately 5 miles east of Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.
Health Benefits
Coverage begins on the first day of the month following an employee’s full-time date of employment. Monthly premium costs are co-shared between Mesaba and the employee.
Dental Benefits
Employees are eligible for Dental insurance after completing ninety (90) consecutive days of full-time employment; coverage begins on the first day of the following month. Coverage increases along with longevity. Monthly premiums are co-shared between Mesaba and the employee.
Vision Coverage
Coverage begins on the first day of the month following an employee’s full-time date of employment. The benefit offered through Spectera includes co-pay examinations with discounts on lens/frames in & out of network.
Domestic Partner Benefits
Health, dental, vision and pass benefits for same and opposite sex domestic partners. Benefits are on an after tax basis according to IRS regulations and are subject to imputed income.
Life Insurance
This benefit is completely employer funded. Coverage is 1x the employee’s annual salary; 2x accidental; 3x accidental at work. Spouse coverage is $5,000; children 0 to 6 months, $1000; children 6+ months to 23 years, $5,000.
Short Term Disability
Is provided by Mesaba after 3 months of continuous service. This benefit is related to non-work related accident or illness for a maximum of 13 weeks.
Long Term Disability
This benefit is employer funded and will be paid after 90 days of continuous total disability for a non-work related accident or illness. Eligibility is after 6 consecutive months of service.

Benefits may vary by department.
Flexible Cafeteria Benefit
Provides employees the opportunity to use pre-tax dollars for certain medical expenses not covered by insurance, and child care expenses.
401(K) Retirement
Is available for employees through Putnam Investments and is available for employees at least 19 years of age that have completed six months continuous year of service. Employee may customize this benefit by choosing from various investment funds that are offered on a pre-tax basis. Eligible employees are able to enroll the first of each month.
Employee Assistance Program (T.E.A.M.)
Is available to all employees and their family members that may experience personal problems, which include financial, family, or chemical dependency problems. Total Employee Assistance Management is a confidential referral service paid for by Mesaba.
Pass Privileges
Pass privileges are available to employees and their immediate family including domestic partners. Free and reduced rate transportation on Mesaba Airlines and many other carriers are available after meeting certain eligibility requirements.
