The award-winning Presbyterian SeniorCare (PSC) is a not-for-profit regional network of living and care options for older adults. Through its innovative Longwood at Home program, three main campuses -- Longwood at Oakmont, Oakmont and Washington -- and more than 55 senior housing affiliates under its SeniorCare Network umbrella, PSC's 1,500 employees deliver quality care and services to 6,000 older adults each year.

From its quiet, humble beginning Jan. 25, 1928, PSC has emerged as western Pennsylvania's largest provider of care and services to older adults. The organization offers a variety of living and care options, including its world-renowned Woodside Place, dedicated to serving people with Alzheimer's and other related dementias; adult day services; assisted living; hospice and palliative care; independent and supportive housing; nursing care; rehabilitation services; and premier retirement living.

A Philosophy of Caring

PSC embraces the philosophy of caring to create communities rich in relationships, creativity and independence. Its philosophy of care transforms the traditional medical model of caring for older adults in a long-term care setting into a residential, home-like model.

Additionally, PSC's care model is one in which residents are given as much choice and flexibility as possible in their daily living. It empowers residents and their families to be involved in the decision making that affects their lives. PSC's secure living environments are not dictated by routine or regimentation, but rather by ones that emphasize dignity, individuality, respect, wellness, and quality of life.
