New Visiting Hours in W&C (Women & Children's) Center

The Women & Children’s Center at Springs Memorial Hospital has revised its present visiting hours. These hours affect visitation on the 4th floor, which relates to the care of laboring mothers, new infants, post-partum mothers and pediatric patients. They are as follows:

* In the Labor and Delivery Rooms (L&D), three person’s of the
mother’s choice may be present. If patient is high risk,
guidelines will be applied on an individual basis.

* Visitation for pediatric patients is 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, with
the exception of 11:00 am – noon. During 11:00 am –
noon, caregivers may be present. Two visitors at a
time (excluding caregiver) are allowed for pediatric patients.

* For post partum patients, visiting hours are 8:00 am – 8:00 pm,
with no visitation from 11:00 am – noon. One overnight visitor is
allowed, but he/she must obtain an overnight pass. We ask that
visitors are limited to two people at a time for new mothers
(other than spouse and/or significant other). No visitors under
the age of 12 may visit, with the exception of siblings of the
new baby.

“We have instituted these changes because they are in the best interest of our patients,” said Cathy Montgomery, Clinical Director of L&D and New Born Nursery. “During the time frames when no visitors are allowed, our staff will be able to provide patient education and answer patient questions in a
quiet environment. It will also give patients time to rest.”
