Great Lakes Specialty Hospital combines the specialized expertise of a large hospital with the personalized attention of a smaller setting.
Occasionally, patients in the hospital have a need for a longer acute care stay due to their illness, multiple injuries, trauma, or medical complications. The unique medical needs of these types of patients require more intensive, focused hospital care for optimal recovery. Great Lakes Specialty Hospital is designed specifically to meet the needs of these types of extended acute care patients.
What makes Great Lakes Specialty Hospital unique is our multi-disciplinary team that collaboratively establishes individualized treatment plans focused on the most progressive clinical outcomes.
Our team includes: physicians, nursing respiratory therapists, occupational and speech therapists nutritionist pharmacist case managers. Along with our team approach and individualized treatment plans, patients benefit from clinical programs of excellence specific to their medical needs.
Great Lakes Specialty Hospital is proud of our clinical outcomes including successfully weaning a large percentage of our patients from their ventilators. Our success is due to a team of dedicated board certified pulmonologists that utilize ventilator weaning protocols for their patients, resulting in optimal outcomes. Our Wound Care Program features a Certified Wound and Ostomy Care Nurse (WOCN) available 5 days a week and a team based approach that has demonstrated optimal clinical outcomes.
Each patient is also assigned a case manager who will guide their case from admission through discharge.
