Culture
CoTs is dedicated to the highest principles of equal opportunity. It is CoTs policy to select the best-qualified person for each position in the organization. No employee of CoTs will discriminate against an applicant for employment or fellow employee because of race, creed, religion, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, handicap, sexual orientation, gender identification, or on any other basis protected by law. Equal employment opportunity for all is a fundamental moral, legal and social obligation of any employee. We at CoTs are firmly committed to a program designed to prevent discrimination or unequal treatment on any basis protected by law. This policy applies to all employment practices and personnel actions. CoTs has developed an Affirmative Action policy that will ensure that the Company will aggressively seek out, hire, develop, and promote qualified members of protected groups. The Company supports equal employment opportunity because its management recognizes that each person has the right to obtain employment, to pursue a career of choice, and to advance on the basis of merit, ability and potential.
Why choose CoTs?
CoTs offers motivated and talented employees the opportunity to grow and reach their maximum potential with a company that promotes the highest ethical standards across a diverse work force.

The CoTs benefits program includes company-paid health, dental, life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurances for full-time employees. CoTs also provides a generous 20%-80% premiums sharing plan that enables the employee to purchase life insurance, dental insurance, and health insurance for dependents for 20% of the premium costs and CoTs pays 80% of the premium costs. A 401(k) plan is available to all employees, both full and part-time.

CoTs is dedicated to providing the highest quality service to our customers. To that end, CoTs actively supports training and education of our employees by providing financial aid for approved classes and certification programs and testing. Employees are also encouraged to participate in approved professional organizations and seminars.

Bonuses such as the Employee of the Quarter Award, Performance Spot Bonuses, Longevity Bonuses, and Project of the Year Bonuses are ways that CoTs recognizes and rewards achievement and commitment in our employees. Managers are eligible for a Directors Incentive Bonus.

If you are looking for the opportunity to work in an environment that stresses quality and integrity, then CoTs is looking for you!

Employee of the Quarter

Ms. Laura Dittamo, who is a Technical Team Lead on CoTs USMC TECOM CCE DPME contract, has been named Employee of the Quarter for the 2nd Quarter 2013.

Ms Dittamo was recently recognized for her exceptional performance in a letter from T.R. Kerrigan, Director of the USMC College of Continuing Education. The Director writes the following:

”The CDET Enlisted Professional Military Education Distance Education Program (EPMEDEP) Branch has been prolific since its inception. This group has developed all of the planned distance education programs for enlisted Marines on an extremely aggressive schedule and has exceeded the high standards we have come to expect of our CoTs teamates. However, their efforts this quarter have been exemplary, even for this high—performing team. The consistent superior performance of Ms Laura Dittamo has been critical to the team’s success, and her performance stands out, even among the dedicated professionals with whom she works.”

”As the technical team leader, Ms Dittamo worked closely with the Sergeants Course director; she supervised the technical development of all interactive courseware. Even with the loss of an instructional designer/technical developer, she was able to push the team to stay on schedule. Her technical skills, design expertise, and knack for adult education allowed her to fill gaps across the team to keep projects moving. She also performed critical quality assurance reviews to maintain standards and ensure consistency and functionality across all courseware.”

”During this quarter, Ms Dittamo also worked closely with the Career Course director to design and develop a template for the Career Course DEP. The template allowed the subject—matter experts to begin developing courses for the next EPME curriculum while the technical team finalized implementation of the Sergeants Course DEP on MarineNet. This synchronization of limited technical team assets has allowed the entire team to optimize development efforts to meet future milestones for USMC enlisted PME.”

”Ms Dittamo led the technical development of sixty hours of interactive multimedia instruction in support of the Sergeants Course DEP. Her leadership, attention to detail, and tireless work ethic were critical to maintaining the aggressive timeline established for development of this DEP while delivering a product of which we are all proud. Sergeants Course DEP, only available on MarineNet since February, already has 3,000 enrollments and 150 completions with preliminary feedback overwhelmingly positive. During a recent Sergeants Course demo for the President of the Marine Corps University, the product gained tremendous praise, especially video portions of the courseware. Ms Dittamo’s critical role in this success story cannot be overstated.”

Congratulations, Laura, on achieving such high praise from the customer. Your work is a fine example of the excellence to which all CoTs employees strive.

In addition, congratulation are in order to the following employees who were also nominated for Employee of the Quarter: Carlos Perez-Guisao, Crystal Waller, and Karen Ferrero (DOT IHS-ARIP); Barbara Champion (DOS BRZ); Jarvis Cabrera, Bashir Mohammad (DOT IT); and Kevin Smith (USMC TECOM CCE RTAM). Good job, everyone!
