Since its opening in 1955, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital has maintained a high level of medical excellence in the community. The 223-bed facility provides outpatient and inpatient primary care, trauma care and wellness services to residents of Chicago's western suburbs.
With a priority placed on patient-centered care, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital furthered its commitment to patients and the community with the 2006 opening of its patient care center. With private rooms, bathrooms with showers, sofa beds for guests and Internet access, the patient care center truly inspires health and healing.
Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital is known for providing quality medical care within a high-tech environment, while still maintaining a personal patient touch. The hospital is a leader in offering comprehensive oncology services, advanced cardiac care, women's health and maternity care, emergency, geriatric and many other specialities that cater to the community we serve
2007, Adventist Midwest Health hospitals provided more than $79 million in community benefit; including more than $9 million in charity care and services to the communities we call home.
The very nature of our not-for-profit hospitals is to ensure that all residents have access to the most advanced health care treatments and services available, regardless of their ability to pay. This requires balancing a steadfast commitment to our mission while remaining stewards of valuable community assets that keep our communities healthy and whole.
Our charitable purpose, however, extends well beyond simply providing free and reduced care. Inherent in the Illinois Constitution, hospitals like Adventist Midwest Health partner with the State in fulfilling the inherently charitable mission of protecting the health and welfare of all people. This broad-based partnership reduces the burden on government and addresses the fundamental need of keeping communities healthy.
As a not-for-profit organization, Adventist Midwest Health does not generate profit for shareholders, nor do individuals profit from its operations. 100 percent of the net income (profit margin) generated by our hospitals is re-invested back into our programs and services, benefiting the patients and communities we serve. This includes covering the costs associated with the purchase of new equipment and technologies, plant and property improvement, working capital needs and repayment of long-term debt.
