Greenbrier Valley Medical Center has a rich history in the scenic Greenbrier Valley. Since 1938, the hospital has played an indispensable role in the region’s development.A replacement facility was built on the current campus in 1974. Triad Hospitals acquired the hospital in 2000, and from 2001 through 2005, the facility was rebuilt and expanded from a 30 year old 100,000 square feet facility into a modern, state-of-the-art 135,000 square feet facility.GVMC’s inpatient services have been improved with a new ICU, new patient rooms, and renovated OB unit. The outpatient services have also been improved with a new ambulatory surgery facility and expansion of the Imaging and Emergency Room facilities.Greenbrier Valley Medical Center serves as a teaching facility for the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and hosts a Family Practice residency program. With more than 90 skilled physicians representing 25 specialties, Greenbrier Valley offers a wide array of medical, surgical and outpatient services that are typically not available at a rural facility.
