About Us Belk, Inc. is the nation's largest privately owned department store organization. Today, there are over 300 Belk stores in the Southeast and mid-Atlantic regions. The stores are still privately owned and operated by the Belk families after more than 111 years. Belk Stores Services is our headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina and supports our three operating divisions:

    Belk Community Giving Belk has a long tradition of giving back to the communities it serves through the financial contributions and volunteerism of associates throughout the company. Each year, the Belk organization, its stores and associates provide generous support to such organizations as the United Way, the Boy Scouts of America, the YMCA and many more.
