Job Description


Production Technicians are responsible for the hands on operation of automated blow molding equipment, and the production of high-quality bottles in a safe an efficient manner.


• Verifies that raw materials and material requirements match the product orders for customers.

• Monitors raw material levels to ensure uninterrupted production.

• Clears bottle jams, adds labels, changes out gaylords, and dumps bottles into the grinder.

• Performs quality control checks on bottles for material and customer requirements.

• Completes daily zone cleaning tasks for the line.

• Documents and enters all required information of downtime, scrap, and parts into PICS.

• Works with the Team Lead to identify the root cause of bottle defects and then determine corrective actions.

• Performs basic troubleshooting of blow molding equipment when product quality deficiencies arise or when the equipment malfunctions.

• Completes set-ups and repairs on machinery in the designated work area.

• Completes daily, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance requirements on blow molding machinery and extruder.

• Meets all required safety process, procedures and training, and ensures all safety devices are on their equipment.

• Maintains ISO, OSHA, and GMP standards.

• Reports quality or food safety issues to Supervisor.

Job Requirements


• High school diploma/GED required.

• Mechanically inclined.

• Basic, working knowledge of electrical concepts.

• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, day or night.

• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

• Blend of technical, interpersonal skills, and continuous learning through training.

• Associates degree in Plastics Technology, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical or a similar technical area is preferred. Background experience will be considered.


• Standing/walking continuously during entire shift. Frequently walking is performed at a moderate pace in order to respond to machine and equipment breakdown.

• Able to lift 40 lbs. continuously; and able to lift 70 lbs. occasionally with assistance.

• Postural activities include climbing, maneuvering, bending, stooping, kneeling. Crouching, crawling above, under and around machinery, equipment and conveyors continuously throughout entire shift.

• Reaching, handling, touching grasping machine parts, controls, control panels, levers, switches continuously while repairing machines.

• Continuously use the bilateral upper extremities to reach, handle, grip and grasp, push and pull, finger and feel, turn, wrench, etc. Forceful grasping, pinching, pushing, and pulling with hand tools to diagnose and repair machinery and equipment.

• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, platforms and scaffolding to repair machine and equipment frequently throughout entire shift.

• Ability to work in non-permit required confined spaces and at heights of 15’ to 20’.
