Unix Engineer II:
CCCi has an opportunity for a Unix Engineer II with our client in Knoxville, TN.

Unix Engineer II Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support multi-tiered systems applications.
- Tune and customize operating systems to support specific applications for best performance.
- Perform root cause analysis of reoccurring application and system issues.
- Develop custom scripts using Perl, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Identify needs and develop technical standards following best practices and how they can be best
applied in the environment.
- Review performance of the infrastructure, perform trending analysis, and make recommendations to
address capacity needs.
- Participate in system architectural design, procurement, and sizing.
- Perform in a technical and/or team lead role.
- Lead presentations to technical audiences.
- Provide 24/7 support in an on-call rotation.
- Perform other duties as needed, and as directed by supervisor.

Unix Engineer II Requirements:
- Associates degree required.
- Fundamental understanding of data models, relational databases (preferably Oracle), and software
lifecycle methodologies.
- May lead and direct the work of others.
- Ability to multi-task required.
- Must possess verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 7 years Systems Administration experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Solaris is
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Java, C++, or other object-oriented language.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Apache http servers and Java application servers, preferably
Tomcat, JBoss and/or Glassfish, is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Perl and/or other scripting languages is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with system, network, or application monitoring technologies.
- Experience with the Vignette product tool suite version 5. 5, 6.0 required.
- Understanding of J2EE including EJB’s, n-tier architecture, object oriented Analysis and Design.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to act independently and responsibly.
- Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups.
- Employees will also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Frequently sits at a computer terminal and desk.
- Frequently walks to other areas within or outside of the department to distribute or gather information.
- Occasional standing; occasional lifting moderate loads up to 25 lbs; frequent bending.
- Stooping, crouching while filing; occasional reaching, twisting, turning.
- Frequent handling of files, pencils, paper; frequent keyboarding, writing and other duties requiring
- Continuous hearing.
- Use of near/midrange/far vision, and speaking to disseminate information.
- Team player.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to act independently and responsibly.
- Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.

Unix Engineer II Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
