Unified Communications Engineer

Job Description

Role: Scope: We are seeking a UC Engineer for a 3+ month opportunity located in Tampa FL. This is 40 hours a week however there will be weeks that you may only work as few as 30 so make sure when factoring budget you factor in rate. Candidate must possess experience supporting large, complex, Unified Communication (UC) networks. Candidate must also understand network design, have solid problem determination skills.

Requirements:

Ability to analyze, configure, and troubleshoot large Cisco voice networks

Technical expertise in multiple areas, with a wide understanding of networking protocols and concepts

Planning, prioritization, and organizing skills

Drive for continuous learning, results orientation, and teamwork for the ultimate success of our customers

Ability to drive change through innovation & process improvement

Leadership and crisis management skills

Provide consultation to solve problems in broad, complex, and unique networks with mixed media and protocols

Provide systems/product training for internally and externally teams

Act as a focal point for network problem resolution.



Essential elements (technical & otherwise):

Significant exposure/familiarity with the following platforms:


-
•-- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (6.x, 7.x, & 8.x)


-
•-- Cisco Unity (4.x & 7.x)


-
•-- Cisco Voice Gateways


-
•-- Cisco IP Phones


-
•-- Cisco Routers and Switches



Must possess solid communication skills:


-
Build client relations (e.g., establish productive and reciprocal relationships with Insight Team, Customers, Partners and other stakeholders)

Professional & concise communication (written & verbal)

Self-Motivated:


-
Receives limited supervision


-
Provides guidance and mentoring to other engineers

Qualifications:


-
Must pass a drug and criminal background check before starting


-
Self-starter with strong organizational skills.


-
High business acumen and passion to learn about the business.


-
2-3 years of Voice Services experience including Cisco VOIP products


-
2-3 years of IP video conferencing experience.


-
Strong communication skills both written and verbal – ability to communicate a technical message in non-technical terms.


-
Advanced troubleshooting skills and methodology to determine root cause with hardware, operating system, application programs, network failure or security.


-
Excellent vendor and client management skills.


-
Fundamental understanding of help desk operations.


- Education/Certification:

- - Typically requires BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) or equivalent plus 2-4 years related experience

- - CCNA (other relevant and industry respected certifications may be considered in special circumstances).

- - CCNA Voice desired
