  Position Summary:

Oversee case distribution and quality assurance procedures under the general supervision of the Case Management supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Assist supervisor with day to day administration of Case Management Department.  Defined duties includes but not limited to:
    • Perform topographic assessment for all breast slides;
    • Perform the sorting and verification of slide labels information for accuracy in relation to accession number, patient name and part number against the system, and completion of slides/case using CBL’s LIS
    • Delivery of slides after completion to each pathologist’s inbox and/or offices.
    • Assist in the administration of all Quality Control Programs (includes suboptimal slides and, QA flags).
  • Review slides for overall quality such as staining intensity, proper cover slipping, and label legibility.
  • Assist product line leaders with questions and troubleshooting issues.
  • Identify and pull all cases that are flagged for QA and ensure they are not distributed until the flag is resolved.
  • Prepare all outbound slides for offsite pathologist and reading stations; assign cases and prepare manifest.
  • Check in returned slides from offsite pathologist and place them for filing.
  • Assist in slide imaging for TC IHC using Aperio (includes reviewing of each slide images for over all quality, approving and linking images for LabIS viewing – some data entry required).
  • Run image analysis program at the request of internal pathologists.
  • Packaging and shipping of all Technical Component (TC) cases, including all outbound materials (slides, blocks, etc).
  • Other duties as directed by Case Management Supervisor which includes but not limited to filing blocks.
