SMARTSOURCE is in need of a Desktop Consultant for a contract in Maple Grove, MN

Job Type: Project
Duration: 3 months
Location: Maple Grove, MN 55311
Start date: July 7th or ASAP


Strong Windows Skills – Windows 7, very basic SCCM skills basic knowledge of Windows 8



SKILL sets
Our Ideal Desktop Technician has to be comfortable and knowledgeable with:
We are a Windows centric shop, so Windows skill sets are required

Professionally understand that we are a Microsoft shop and use Microsoft products to solve all of our computing related needs-

Must know Windows 7 and, to a lesser extent Windows 8

Must have experience with Windows XP. We have a very small XP base.

Remote Desktop (Windows RDP)

Understand remote network access from the desktop/laptop
We use Microsoft Direct Access (DA)

Understand Microsoft VPN

Troubleshoot remote access issues with end users

We use Lenovo desktops and Laptops

Desktop and Laptop setup and support
Able to build PC using install media

Setup PC using SCCM boot media

Network setup and troubleshooting

Active Directory (AD) adds and changes for these devices

Microsoft Office support and install

Asset tracking

Understand auto-logon

Understand AD aspects of users and computers
Add and change users in AD

We use AD 2008 R2

Troubleshoot user/computer accounts in AD

Have some experience with Office 365 and managing users there

Able to use Help Desk software
We use ManageEngine ServiceDesk

Able to be a first response technician on the help desk
Answer help desk line

Create tickets for service

Assist end users in access and other issues.

Experience with handheld devices
We use Motorola MC9090 handhelds in our warehouse

Experience with wireless setup for user devices

Able to track and ship equipment for repairs/warranty

Understand and troubleshoot network faxing/email faxing

Understand VoIP
We use Microsoft Lync for our phone system

Have some troubleshooting skills for Lync

We use Cisco networking products
Be able to be trained in basic software that will do port changes.

Understand label printers
We use Zebra label printers in our manufacturing

We use LabelVision software

Technician should know, or learn in a short timeframe how to troubleshoot the LabelVision/Zebra combination to support production

Know how to troubleshoot end-user printing issues
We use HP laser printers for desktop

We use Canon multi-function printers
