Painter (Improver)

Job Description

Lead Staffing is looking for Shipyard PAINTERS. You must be able to do the following tasks: Clean & prepare wood or metal for painting, remove dirt, rust, grease from surfaces. Masks and tapes area not requiring painting. Paints parts, equipment the interior and exterior of the ships and ship yard buildings. Mixing material in accordance to material data sheets. Inspects painted areas and perform touch up work as needed and re-checks. Assists in sand blasting and sand removal and clean up. Required Skills: 3+ years experience with hand brush and spray painting ( HVLP Conventional and airless) Good knowledge of various types and uses of paints, preparation procedures for paint, different types of procedures and basic reading to identify paints and solvents. Able to operate high reaching equipment. Ability to work at heights and confined spaces, and access and move around ships safely. Must also have the ability to observe differences in color.

Preferred Skills: Spray painter, HVLP and airless, knowledge of different types of hand tools and power tools. ****MUST BE AVAILABLE ALL SHIFTS****
