Mental Health Instructors

The Mental Health Instructor reports directly to the Habilitation Coordinator providing direct support to Candeo clients with Mental Health disabilities. This Instructor supports clients in achieving their personal goals and functions independently assuring that clients receive the highest quality services possible.  Direction and guidance are available from the Habilitation Coordinator. Hourly wage is $11.75-13.75 an hour depending on your level of education and experience. This is a great position for students and for those looking for a 2nd job!

Overnight positions also available:

Overnight Instructors provide support, supervision and instruction to individuals with disabilities who live in the community with 24 hour support from staff. Hours range from 9:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m. Awake Overnight Instructors are required to be awake all evening while Asleep Overnight Instructors are required to be awake while the client is awake but may sleep when the client is sleeping.

Job Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Associate’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Rehabilitation or related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • One year experience with Mental Health Diagnoses required

  • Ability to encourage client to access community resources

  • Excellent teaching and motivation skills

  • Good communication skills at all levels, including clients, parents, and staff

  • Ability to develop rapport and trust with client


    All applicants must pass an extensive background check. Candeo reviews Sex Offender, Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries along with performing a criminal history check. All applicants must retain a satisfactory driving record, a working vehicle and auto insurance.

    Once hired, all employees are required to attend five consecutive, full days of training followed by two additional days of training prior to working at Candeo.
