National Accounts Sales Rep - Plastics

Job Description

Our client, a well established company in the industrial machining industry, is hiring a National Accounts Representative for its corporate office in Charlotte, NC. The primary purpose of the role is to present and promote the company’s complete plastics portfolio, with focus on General Plastics (GP), In-Mold Decoration (IMD), Heat Transfer (HT), Insert Molding/VF films, Machine Solutions, Dies, and New Technologies. Sales approach will include selling and presenting at the brand owner or specifier level in addition to plastics molders, converters and decorators. He/she will utilize the inherent synergies among the company’s diverse products and technologies through a “pull through” and “push through” strategy via specifiers and at the converting/molding/stamping levels. He/she will work independently in pursuit of targeted “plastics” applications, and will also work closely with the general sales organization in support of cross-selling efforts at the local level throughout the U.S. and Canada (potentially Mexico, especially in the Maquiladoras regions) Brand owners/specifiers will be targeted on a national basis (U.S. and Canada). Specific responsibilities are to meet or exceed sales budget ($ and volume) for assigned accounts and products; represent the local and global organization at key brand owners / specifiers in the U.S. and Mexico; collaborate with the sales organization through development of key account action plans and active support to local sales personnel, with specific goals and defined milestones/assignments; manage general customer relationships, through defined call cycles, development of relationships across functions and organizational levels, and through proactive and responsive handling of customer issues including product and service complaints; ensure accurate, timely and effective communications as required - weekly itineraries and call reports, complaint processing, sample feedback, weekly expense reports and other reports as requested by management; conduct or coordinate market analyses of pertinent market components in order to determine revenue and profit potential of new markets and accounts while maintaining current business and travel domestically and internationally as needed.



Job Requirements

          Bachelor’s Degree, engineering or packaging preferred

          Minimum 5 and maximum 12 years of solution sales and relationship management experience in plastics injection molding or plastics fabrication, manufacturing required, automotive or appliance industry experience highly preferred

          Professional demeanor including strong verbal and written communication skills, high level of personal initiative, team orientation, well organized and solid interpersonal skills

          MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

          Ability to travel 60% by air in the domestic US/Canada/Mexico and annually to Europe
