Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to load and unload products and supplies into and out of trailers and/or containers. This individual reports to the corresponding Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
  • Ensures equipment used within the facility is operated properly and safely
  • Understands what to do in an emergency, which includes power outages, workplace injuries, etc. 
  • Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
  • Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Understands and can identify Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
  • Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately
 Quality
  • Ensures product, supplies and raw materials are handled according to the highest quality standards
  • Follows plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s
Loading and Unloading Activity
·         Loads and/or unloads trailers/containers
·         Builds, re-stacks, and un-Builds product from pallets
·         Verifies actual quantities as compared to picking list, packing list, BOL, MO’s, and other Warehouse Operation standard paperwork.
·         Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices.
·         Weigh materials or products, and record weight and other production data on tags or labels.
 
Inventory Control & Warehousing Activities
·         Performs loading and related activities of D&W product onto outbound trailers and/or containers
·         Picks product from locations to prepare for loading as directed
·         Properly and accurately fills out transfer sheets, PICK lists, etc.
·         Performs consolidation and other related tasks
·         Performs Pullback (pulling of pallets of completed product from the manufacturing plant to the WH) as needed
General & Administrative
  • No direct supervision responsibilities
  • Reports to work on-time and follows D&W attendance policy and guidelines
  • Performs other assigned duties to support warehousing activities
  • Carries out activities in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and applic

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
·         HS Diploma/GED
·         1 year of related experience is required, 2 years is preferred
·         Forklift certification
·         Must hold a valid American Driver’s License
·         Must be 21 years of age or older
·         Ability to work safely; attention to detail
·         Warehouse experience
·         Basic math skills
·         Pallet jack experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. Currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITIES
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme temperatures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and products with sharp edges. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
