Job Description



Chief Mechanical Engineer:

  •  Manage the in-house Engineering Dept. on a day-to-day basis
  • Provide supervision and/or technical direction (i.e., print interpretation, design intent, construction feasibility) to engineers, crafts, and/or superintendents to insure work is completed in proper sequence.
  • Provide interpretations of all external codes, regulations, and specifications.  Act as senior technical person for assigned projects
  • Provide value engineering direction for Company engineering activities.
  • Lead engineer on small and large projects
  • Interface with clients to develop solutions for their project needs
  • Perform site visits to review and evaluate existing mechanical systems and provide energy and/or performance solutions
  • Evaluate feasibility of new equipment or modifying existing systems considering costs, available space, time limitations, energy goals, project timeline and related economic factors.
  • Review and approve field design change requests prepared by field and area engineers.
  • Interface with project managers and field staff throughout the design and construction of projects
  • Energy engineering for new and existing facilities

         Clean rooms

         Biopharmaceutical facilities

 


Job Requirements


Relevant Skills & Experience:
  •  Management and leadership experience
  •  Work history at a Design/Build contractor
  •  Fully functional with AutoCAD, load calculations software, energy modeling software ( eQuest, Energy Pro), Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills and be a team leader
  • Ability to interact and coordinate design concepts with clients, architects and other trades
  • Lead design on projects
  • 3D Revit/BIM experience is a plus
  • LEED accreditation and Green Building initiatives is a plus.

 

Qualifications:
    BSME or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience

           10 to 15 years HVAC and /or plumbing experience for commercial and

    California Professional Engineering License is desirable
