Job Title: Operations Planning Manager

Our Client is a nimble-footed flexible packaging converter serving the food industry, with operations across North America and Europe.  On their behalf, we seek an  Operations Planning Manager for their union-free flagship US operation.  Investments underway will double key capacity in the next six months, boosting workforce growth of 30% to this close-knit Midwest community.  A skilled planning and supply chain professional, the Ops Planning Manager will bring a track record of collaboration up, down and across the organization ... with an enthusiasm for being at the hub-of-the-wheel of manufacturing. 

Together with the site management team, this key leader will help set the tone for a plant poised for growth.  The selected person must enjoy the challenge and thrill of a high-visibility position.  A solid foundation in continuous improvement methodologies, planning and scheduling, workforce deployment, and inventory control is key.  Familiarity with an integrated ERP system, with expertise in production control, is desirable.  Past supervision of converting processes like wide web flexographic printing, adhesive lamination, or pouch making would be favorable.  A desire for career growth into senior operations or supply chain management is essential.

Job Requirements


Critical requirements for this Operations Planning Manager are:


  • Intimate familiarity with ERP systems to aid production planning and control;
  • Membership in APICS or CPIM certification;
  • Championing continuous improvement techniques throughout the supply chain, from raw materials through delivered goods. Familiarity with Six Sigma or 5S methodologies, with Black Belt certification preferred;
  • Technical depth in process understanding and financial or statistical analysis
  • Knowledgeable of converting operations in flexible packaging for the food industry, including flexo printing, adhesive lamination, or pouch making;
  • Effective collaborative interaction with personnel at all levels in a 24/7 manufacturing setting;
  • 4-year degree in engineering, business, finance or the sciences.
