Job Description

The Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing new business opportunities and market penetration for the New York metro area.  This individual will establish relationships with prospective large client groups such as hospital networks and large multi-specialty practices. Researches and secures managed care contracts and handles related administrative aspects.  

Position is based out of Hicksville but requires traveling throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Hours:  Monday through Friday 9 AM- 5:30 PM with additional hours as neeeded. 

  • Managed Care - Responsible for selected/assigned contracting and relationship development and maintenance. Handles related administrative aspects of contracts. 
  • Specialty Testing - Works with corporate and divisional teams to develop and execute focused marketing programs to specialists.
  • Hospitals - Works with regional team to help develop and execute a full suite of hospital programs, including, but not limited to reference testing (C/P and A/P), co-marketing with outreach programs, lab management and equity ventures.
  • Training - Serves as member of Regional Training Team.
  • FQHCs – Participates in the implementation on a regional level.  Responsible for senior level (CEO, COO, CMO) relationships in this market. Responsible for selected/assigned RFP process externally and internally.
  • Sales – Functions in a multi-level, long cycle sales environment.
  • Marketing - Serves as member of Regional Marketing Team.  Executes regional and sub-regional business plans. Contributes to the creation of new collateral and other marketing programs

Job Requirements

  • Strong analytical, negotiating, organizational, time management, presentation and project management skills.
  • Ability to understand cutting edge laboratory technology and apply that into effective sales and marketing programs.
  • Sound knowledge of healthcare trends and programs such as Obamacare, ACOs, IPAs and ability to forecast these trends on the laboratory industry.
  • Experience selling to Women’s Health, Endocrinology and Hematology/Oncology practices preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements related to the laboratory industry. Must be able to consistently apply those requirements to all situations.
  • Well developed matrix management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree and relevant job experience to include sales, marketing and operations.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a sales position preferably interacting with senior management in managed care organizations, hospitals and large multi-specialty groups
