Job Description

SmartSource, Inc si seeking a Technical Writer / Documentation specialist.

Role: We are in need of a Documentation Specialist for a 3-4 month contract located in Weston MA. This role is to support the development of knowledge management program for existing client.

The main responsibilities will be Incident & Data Analysis / Data Mining / Technical Writing

Experience:

Proficient:

Word / Excel / PowerPoint

Screen Capture Utilities - Snagit, Paint, Snip

SharePoint Document Collaboration / Management

Work and follow fast paced project agendas

Assist with information gathering from various sources to generate source libraries for supported applications & services

Follow uniformprocess to centralize data with flexibility to adjust as process matures

Assist with setting documentation standards based on variety of formats discovered

Follow uniform process to standardize data with flexibility to adjust as process matures


-
Transform the various information into an understandable structure for further use


-
Translate data to generate easy to follow instructional steps for service desk (ITSC articles) and end-users (self-help guides)


-
Efficiently manage edits & feedback provided by SMEs and other team leads


-
Maintain change log based on decided processes that impact toolsets & teams


-
Manage version control and lifecycle of updates within chosen toolset


-
Manage approved updates within Incident Management Knowledge Bank




Qualifications:

-
Must pass a drug and criminal background check before starting


-
3 years experience working as a Documentation Specialist


-
Must have experience writing up training manuals


-
Strong communications skills including written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal


-
Strong Team Orientation with ability to work independently on assigned tasks to meet objectives


-
Maintain and follow work plans to drive activities to closure, and keep manager and teammates apprised of progress, plans and issues


-
Must have excellent communication and customer services skills.
