POSITION: NERC CIP Specialist – St. Louis, MO



JOB TYPE: Contract or Direct hire

CONTRACT DURATION: 1 year minimum

COMPENSATION: Dependent on history and experience and whether contract or direct hire

ESTIMATED START DATE: TBD based on candidate availability


The selected candidate will be responsible for the design,implementation, review, and support of cyber security controls as applied to plant control systems(DCS, PLCs, SCADA, etc.). The Specialist will also be responsible for the development of regulatorypolicies & procedures, technical and design recommendations for the implementation of firewalls and other network security and compliance controls. Ideal candidate will have a strong projectmanagement background and be required to work remotely and on site to ensure compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

- ? Distributed control system (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) network cyber security support

- ? Develop, implement, and maintain NERC CIP policies & procedures

- ? Administer and manage security systems and tools

- ? Maintain, configure, update, and patch security systems including antivirus, vulnerability scanners, database monitoring, SIEM devices, etc.§? Maintain knowledge of current and future NERC CIP requirements

- ? Consult with and provide direction to clients regarding NERC CIP compliance standards

- ? Assist with NERC compliance training to ensure customer compliance becomes a sustainable business practice


- ? Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with five (5) years of related experience

- ? Solid understanding of industrial control systems (DCS, PLCs, & SCADA)

- ? Experience and/or familiarity with system security configurations for Windows, Unix, and/or

- Linux systems

- ? Experience and/or familiarity with vulnerability assessments and methodologies

- ? Experience and/or familiarity with IDS, NIDS, and other methods of threat detection

- ? Knowledge and understanding of NERC CIP cyber security standards

- ? Strong project management experience with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment

- ? Excellent analytical ability, consultative, and communication skills

- ? Strong customer orientation
