Job Description

Our client, a global manufacturing company, is hiring a Credit and Collections Manager for its office in Southeast Charlotte, NC. The Credit and Collections Manager’s primary role is to improve the activities of the credit department for the organization and has the opportunity for advancement for a high performing employee. Primary responsibilities of the Credit and Collections Manager are to: create a credit risk management environment; assist in developing sound, acceptable credit policies; train, manage and professionally develop the collections team; analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on highest risk accounts including recommendations for resolution; guide the collections team to effectively obtain credit information to support credit lines or assist in collecting when necessary; reconcile transactions and balances to maintain accurate accounts; initiate credits and adjustments to customer accounts within company policy limits; check for credit viability on requests for extended terms, and evaluate various adjustments or exception documents; identify accounts requiring collection agency or legal action and coordinate collections with third party contractors; monitor for violations of credit policies and when identified, suggest actions/penalties to be taken when appropriate; develop processes and procedures for evaluating customer financials and setting and changing credit lines/limits, as well as credit holds; implement liens as necessary to major delinquent account as approved; generate legal documents used in the credit function and travel 5% domestically.






Job Requirements

          Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business

          5 years minimum and 17 maximum managing the credit and collections function in a commercial construction environment with average AR in excess of $20 million OR

          Minimum of 5 years and 17 maximum of credit/collections with promotion to credit/collections supervisor and promotion to Credit Collections Manager, average AR in excess of $20 million, no construction experience required

          Demonstrated history of keeping DSO in the low 70’s

          Microsoft Office products (basic Word, Excel) and ERP system experience required

          Understands purpose of legal documentation and terms and conditions of the sales and installations contracts of company’s product

          Knowledge of financial statements and cash flow analysis, industry/market credit research, liens and bonds

          Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills and results oriented

          Must have excellent follow up, negotiation and problem solving skills

          Detailed knowledge of required documentation and a thorough knowledge of Lien Laws that govern the transactional relationship between the Customer and the Company

          Knowledge of contract payments in a % completion environment preferred

          5 % travel, domestic US
