Create Account Job Description Our client, a manufacturer of custom products located in Bessemer City NC, is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor for newly created 2nd shift. The company is growing and now needs the 2nd shift to meet their customer demands. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role supports production, fabrication and customer order fulfillment activities by and through the development and delivery of processes governing the warehouse operations. This role supervises and delegates work assignments to staff of 4-6 associates and is responsible to maintain security of building/premises and safeguard company assets as well as oversee all safety compliance as per Company Policy.The primary duties of this role are: Facilitates the physical stocking of inventory according to established procedures; Timely unloading of containers as per schedule and priority; Facilitates the pulling of inventory for customer and internal orders according to established procedures, including special projects as defined; Ensures that all inventory related transactions are performed in an accurate and timely manner; Communicates status of projects and tasks as required to day shift Warehouse Supervisor and Director of Operations/Materials & Logistics; Assess project needs and assigns work projects to department members based upon individual skills and competencies; Serves as an information resource to members of the group in providing direction on the completion of assignments; Promotes an atmosphere of continuous improvement of work processes and job knowledge areas through training programs to members of the group and conducts annual performance appraisals of members of the group providing feedback on individual work performance. Utilizes various coaching and mentoring techniques to motivate group members. Job Requirements • High school degree with minimum 5 years warehouse supervision or BA with 3 years experience. • Strong understanding of the concepts, business principles and practices of physical distribution, inventory control and warehousing management as it applies to warehousing, production/ fabrication applications, functionality and constraints • Ability to coach, develop, motivate, and interactive to effectively lead a team environment that communicates effectively, forms positive relationships internally and externally. • Understanding of Quality control, performance standards, deadlines, goals and directives of the department through a proactive approach to the business. • Utilizes a root cause analysis approach to problem solving and takes appropriate action up to including the FOE team concept. • Experience within a multi-task, high volume manufacturing work environment with three to four years in directly supervising and managing hourly and non-exempt employees. • Training in or exposure to the principles of JIT, APICS, Conway Principles, and Project Management is highly desirable.
