Job Description

Our client, an international manufacturer of automotive parts, is hiring a Human Resources Manager for its plant near Statesville, NC. The Human Resources Manager is responsible to ensure organizational compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintain competitive benefits, which allow for the recruitment of qualified candidates, and the retention of qualified associates and build and maintain good public relations within the company. The manager must provide leadership and guidance in the implementation of the employee involvement process. Specific responsibilities are to: manage (supervision, leadership, direction, support, communication and guidance) of employees within designated assigned areas, including recommendations related to hiring, promotions, disciplinary action and terminations; provide leadership by coaching, guiding, supporting and giving direction to subordinates to successfully complete assignments and/or projects; prepare and present results of budget & manpower plan for the operation of the assigned departments; evaluation and oversight of the compensation and performance evaluation system; directing recruitment efforts, career paths and employee relations coaching and counseling; provide leadership, strategic planning and guidance in the structure of employee health, retirement plan and additional benefits for all locations; manage labor related issues such as EEOC, Worker’s Compensation, etc.; ensure all policies, procedures and plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and followed, while communicating guidelines to department and all management staff; act as a resource to ensure understanding and compliance of benefits, HR policies and regulations, while keeping Senior Management advised of potential problem areas and provide recommendations and implementation of solutions; develop and deliver training to the various departments, travel domestically (up to 15% annually) and assume other duties as needed, which may change at any time with or without notice.



Job Requirements


 4 year degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field


 Minimum 7 years experience in Strategic Human Resource Management in a manufacturing environment at a strategic level (hiring/retention, compensation/benefits and training)of a company with 300 plus employees preferably with an automobile parts manufacturer


 Prefer SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification or ability to work toward obtaining certification (Senior Professional in HR)


 Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in the HR function


 Minimum 5 years budget management for an HR function


 Oversight of the application of HR Laws such as ACA, Works Comp, FLMA, ADA, etc.


 Proficient in personal computer skills including a variety of office software (ex. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


 Effective verbal, listening and communication skills and ability and willingness to interact with all levels within the organization


 Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills


 Effective leadership and coaching skills


 Ability to travel domestically and internationally to Japan 1-2 times annually
