Mammography Technologist immediate job opening working in the Naval Medical Center San Diego Diagnostic Imaging Department providing medical care for military members, retirees, and their families.  The Arora Group, Inc. (AGI) is a well-respected contract healthcare staffing company with over 600 employees.  We place highly-qualified healthcare workers in various Department of Defense hospitals/clinics throughout 23 states.  Our goal is to provide world-class health care to the Government, offer you a place to improve your skills, learn from the best, and continue your dedication and passion to serve the needs of our Armed Forces.  What make AGI successful is our commitment to our patients and our staff that cares for them.  This job opening is for a full-time Mammography Technologist four or five days per week (8-hr or 10-hr shifts) between Monday - Saturday between the hours of 6 .a.m. to 6 p.m.  Weekend and Holiday shifts are rotated with the other technolgists.  We anticipate scheduling up to 8 Saturdays per year and a maximum of 3 Federal Holidays. 


  • Perform a full range of mammography technologist duties.
  • Perform breast imaging procedures.
  • Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented in accordance with the department's standards. 
  • Prepare patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
  • Select and operate breast imaging equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
  • Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
  • Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examination, explaining the need for breast compression during mammography.
  • Determine radiographic technique and exposure factors.
  • Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
  • Evaluate mammograms or other breast images for technical quality, assuring that proper identification is recorded.
  • Assume responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
  • Provide patient education, including breast self-examination techniques.
  • Perform daily warm up and quality control checks of the Mammography equipment as per manufacturer's recommendations.

Job Requirements

  • Possess and maintain a current certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist as determined by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • Possess and maintain a current certification and registration as a Mammography Technologist as determined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MAM).
  • Possess experience as a Mammography Technologist performing at a minimum of 200 mammograms within the past 24 months in a clinical facility.
  • Maintain current BLS (Healthcare Provider - American Heart Assoc)
  • U.S. Citizenship (required for access to Gov't computer systems)
